Douglass is a self–taught artist residing in the Pocono Mountains, PA.
He began painting as a youngster. A second grade teacher noticed his talent and invited a local newspaper to do a feature on him and his art.
Douglass paints with many different mediums, but prefers acrylics. He enjoys painting a variety of subjects-local landscape, animals, portraits and racing art.
He has painted racing art for A.J. Foyt that hangs in the famous racecar driver’s office and home. Douglass has also painted the portraits of the five children of a Foyt family member.
He participates in many art and craft shows in the Pocono Mountain area. Some of Douglass’ art is displayed and for sale at the Franklin Street Gallery in Watkins Glen, NY as well.
As a muralist, Douglass has completed many larger works at commercial locations, and once painted a mural on a barn in Jonas, PA.
Douglass prefers framing his own art work feeling that matting and framing are a part of the artistic process. His art has also taken him beyond painting on canvas to airbrush on cars, vans, and motorcycles.
