Public Gallery: Khrystyna Khristianova

July 1 - September 30

Artist Khrystyna Khristianova is featured in the Pocono Arts Council Public Gallery at the Hughes Eastern Monroe Public Library! Her solo show consists of landscapes and will be on display until the end of September 2024.

Artist Statement:
“Inspired by nature, my work serves as a lens through which I perceive and express my fascination with the essence of the landscapes, flora, and fauna that surround us. I am currently enjoying working with both traditional and digital media from oil painting to photography because painting teaches me patience and photography teaches me to see and capture moments that pass in a blink of an eye.

I consider myself a realist painter, but my art practice is my escape from reality. Therefore, I like to paint scenes as collective images from my imagination that look
and feel real as if they could’ve existed somewhere, but you can’t quite pinpoint where you’ve seen them, making them universal and unique at the same time. Through my art, I hope to ignite a renewed appreciation for the scenery, colors, and atmospheres that surrounds us and to inspire a deeper connection with nature. In a world that often rushes by, I invite viewers to pause, breathe, and rediscover the profound beauty of vast landscapes and the smallest details to drift away into daydreaming about the places we once visited and the memories we made.

Edward Hopper once said, “if I could say it in words there would be no reason to paint” and I aspire to speak with my paintings in ways that are understood on the deeper levels where the words can’t reach.
