Join us for a sneak peek into the life and work of Peter Salmon, Fine Artist at Open Studio Tour location #1!
Artist Peter Salmon of Henryville, PA paints the world around him, at home and on the road. Here in the Poconos, his subjects include wildlife, landscapes, his wife Linda’s garden and grandchildren in many activities.
Summer visits to his native Vermont are reflected in paintings of that landscape and the old marble quarry swimming hole in Dorset VT. Other recurring themes are the landscape and wildlife of the Wyoming Tetons and New York City scenes.
Celebrating their 50th anniversary, Peter and Linda realized a life-long dream by visiting Africa last year, now reflected in paintings of its famous wildlife.
A graduate of Middlebury College and Harvard University, Salmon studied art at the Brooklyn Museum and Boston University. His work has appeared in many solo and group exhibits here and in New England. He is also actively involved in Trinity Episcopal Church, where he and his colleague Kathryn Ritter have directed the Arts on the Mountain program since 1988.
