24th Annual Student Juried Exhibition
February 1-17, 2018
Monroe County students through Grade 12 are invited to participate in a Juried Student Art Show sponsored by the Pocono Arts Council. The exhibition will be held at the ARTSPACE Gallery at the PoconoArts Cultural Center in Stroudsburg and is open to students residing in the county or attending a Monroe County school district. 2nd Annual Art as Spirituality Exhibition
March 2-29, 2018
Artists of all ages are invited to use their art to explore, express and share their spirituality. Sponsored by Opportunity Associates, a local inter-faith based organization whose focus is to develop a more just and humane society. Increasing the appreciation of diversity and creating opportunity for all. Drop-off is Monday, February 26, 1-9pm. Open to artists in all mediums with $225 in prize money available. Earth Speaks IV: A Juried Exhibition on the Climate Crisis
April 6-28, 2018
The Earth has spoken loudly in 2017! Artists are provided a means to capture their concern regarding the climate crisis and how it affects our planet, and they have an opportunity to offer possible solutions.
Through art and creative expression, the exhibit will shine a light on:
- Man-made issues that pose a threat to our planet (litter, global warming, pesticides, GMOs, water pollution, over-fishing, deforestation, fracking)
- Environmental disasters (tsunamis, hurricanes, oil spills, smog, nuclear meltdowns)
- Ideas for solutions (solar and wind energy, bio fuels, reduced carbon footprint, recy-cling, tree planting, organic farming)
The Earth Speaks IV is a regional open call for work. Artists from the following states are invit-ed to enter: ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI, NY, NJ, PA, VA, MD, DE, DC. $1,000 in awards are available in a variety of mediums including 2-D, 3-D, Photography, and Printmaking.
Students are encouraged to enter.

A SPECIAL NOTE TO ARTISTS INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN THE EARTH SPEAKS: There will be two workshops on Wednesday, December 6 at 4 & 7PM, to provide inspiration and share creative ideas in preparation for your entry into The Earth Speaks IV exhibit. During a short powerpoint presentation, you will see a sampling of environmental issues artwork created by artists from around the world. Climate science is looking to art to create change!
