
Robert M. Moses Awarded ESU Presidential Medal
Congratulations to Bob Moses who received the President’s Distinguished Medal at East Stroudsburg University’s 125th Anniversary Celebration on October 25, 2108 at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn. ESU President Marcia G. Welsh, Ph.D. honored Robert M. Moses, William B. Cramer, Esq., and the R. Dale and Frances M. Hughes Foundation for their commitment and work that exemplifies the values of ESU.
Bob was recognized for his 42-year tenure at the college. In 2018, he retired from his position as director of residence life and housing where he was instrumental in expanding the housing inventory of the Residence Life department. Bob has established several scholarships that contribute to the well-being of ESU students.
Presently, Bob serves as a Pocono Arts Council board member. He has received many awards in the community, including ESU Volunteer of the Year, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for ESU Faculty-Staff, Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Cancer Society, and the Humanitarian of the Year Award from the Greater Pocono Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of ESUs Sterling Strauser Gallery Committee, the ESU Foundation Board of Directors, and the Smithfield Township Planning Committee.
In addition to his involvement with the ESU Warrior Food Pantry, he is the fundraising lead for organizations, including the United Way, American Cancer Society, and Planned Parenthood of Northeast PA. Recently, Bob established the Kathy Moses Elementary Education Memorial Endowed Scholarship for students in the elementary education program.

Betsy Buzzelli-Clarke Awarded Pocono Cinema’s Searchlight Award
Congratulations to Dr. Betsy Buzzelli-Clarke who received the “Searchlight Award for an Individual” at Pocono Cinema & Cultural Center’s 10th Annual Red Carpet Event held November 10, 2018 at the Shawnee Inn & Golf Resort.
Quoting the bio that appeared in the evening’s program, “Dr. Betsy Buzzelli-Clarke is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of East Stroudsburg University. With over 40 years of teaching experience, Betsy continues to inspire students in their pursuit of music education in her private studio where she teaches piano, violin, and viola.
Betsy currently serves as President of the Pocono Arts Council Board of Directors. She also serves on the Boards of the Pocono Youth Orchestra and the Pocono flute Society. In addition, she is the instrumental coordinator of, and long-time orchestra member for, the annual Messiah Sing-In at Shawnee.
In a completely volunteer capacity, she founded and directs the Pocono Community Orchestra, which provides an opportunity for instrumentalists to continue their musical passions while aiding community organizations.”
