The Pandemic made me realize what it is like to be controlled by fear and lose the freedom to move, associate, operate a business, make money, hug, kiss and see faces. It became an interplay between the Bee Gees song “Staying Alive” with an understanding of chimeras along with the New Hampshire motto Live Free or Die. Thankfully, the Poconos have such beautiful open spaces to hike, kayak and bicycle that confinement did not become a prison.
But the continued doomsday message by politicians and the media became reflected in my art. Fun, happiness, and togetherness pre COVID-19 to sadness, confinement and depression during the pandemic.
