Fiber Art: Machine and Hand Embroidery

Artist’s Website or Social Media:
I have always enjoyed flowers. Looking at them, growing them, smelling them. But during the lock down, as I started taking walks, I realized what was bringing me the most joy was the simplest moments of nature. A wildflower as a Monarch finds it. The interior of a Tulip as a spider takes a walk. This is the joy I wanted to show in my Art. The joy that, although we are dealing with separation, lock down, sickness and death, nature is moving forward all around us. All we have to do is take a moment to look.
My artwork is created by hand and free motion machine, thread painting, embroidery with stumpwork. Each piece is stitched on Aida cloth, with sculpted stumpwork stitched on organza or muslin with wire. Each stitch, both hand or machine, has up to 3 colors of thread to create depth. I encourage you to step back to see how the eyes perceive the colors. Move forward to see the full use of colors in each stitch.
My goal is to give you a glimpse of the beauty that Mother Nature displays for us daily.
