The Pocono Mountain Arts Council will be holding its annual membership art show at the Pocono Mountain Public Library on Route 611 in Tobyhanna. The show will run through the months of May and June with a closing reception at the library on Saturday, June 25th from 12-2pm.
Included in the show will be the works of 15 of some of the council’s finest artists. Works will be in various mediums including paintings done in oils, acrylics, watercolors and pencil. There will also be photography, pottery, gourds, and Jewelry.
Judging of the artists work will be done by Jody Singer, owner of Origins Art Gallery in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. Awards will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners of each medium.
On the day of the reception there will be a contest called Think Outside The Box. Members of the council will be given a particular object that they will use in a very artistic manner and prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners. There will also be an award for the People’s Choice that will be voted on by the attendees on the day of the reception.
The public is welcome to visit the library and view the art during normal Library business hours and attend the reception June 25th where refreshments will be served following the close of the show at 2pm on the grounds of the Wills Mansion next to the library. Everyone is welcome to bring a snack to share with others.
