Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts (PPA) is a state funding initiative of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts (PCA) designed to broaden the circle of funding opportunities in support of arts activities throughout 67 counties in the state. PPA is financed through the PCA, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency. PPA offers two streams of funding opportunities: Project Stream and Program Stream. Both expand community access and encourage local decision-making.
The Pocono Arts Council serves as a regional partner of the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts program by re-granting state funds to applicants in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike, and Wayne counties. The staff at the Pocono Arts Council administers the PPA grant application and award process. Advisory panels, comprised of members of the local community committed to the arts, are convened, to review the applications according to guidelines provided by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
Since 1997, $1,938,609 has been awarded in small grants to non-profit organizations and artists conducting community-based arts programs. For the 2017-2018 granting period, the Pocono Arts Council awarded 45 Project Stream grants, totaling $46,867 and 22 Program Stream grants to be announced.
eGrant Application System
Applicants for PPA Project Stream and Program Stream grants use the PCAs eGrant application system to upload documents. The system takes you through the application process for the grant program of your choice and allows you to submit it directly to the PCA. You submit your grant application, your grant award agreement and final report through eGrant.
Project Stream grants are open to individual artists and community groups who apply for support of an arts-related project with strong public impact. Funded projects reach a wide range of arts constituents and include arts events, exhibitions, concerts, films, performances, and festivals, to name a few.
Program Stream grants offer ongoing organizational support to non-profit arts programs with an established history of PPA project stream support. Grants are available by invitation only.
