October 6-28, 2017 – Autumn Impressions
The October exhibition will celebrate the fall season and feature artwork in the gallery from member and non-member artists in a variety of mediums. Drop off is Monday, October 2, 1-6PM. Artists’ Reception: October 7, 4-6PM.
November 3-18, 2017 – Small Works II
The November exhibition will feature small-sized artwork that does not exceed 200 square inches. Drop off is Monday October 30, 1-6PM. Artists’ Reception: November 4, 4-6PM.
November 24, 2017 – January 5, 2018 – Holiday Store
Popular art gift shop open throughout the holiday season. Artists interested in selling fine art or fine crafts are invited to apply. Membership in the council is required for participation. Application Deadline: November 10, 2017.
The 4th annual ArtPop competition is here to shine the spotlight on the talented local artists in Northeastern Pennsylvania by placing their work on available billboards throughout the region. Local artists in all mediums are invited to submit entries for five available billboards circulating the region in 2018. Deadline for Submission is December 1.
Earth Speaks IV
The EARTH has spoken loudly in 2017! Art has always been a powerful tool for expressing ideas and feelings about issues of concern. The Earth Speaks is an artist’s means of capturing their concern regarding the climate crisis and how it is affects our planet as well as an opportunity to offer possible solutions.
Through art and creative expression, the exhibit hopes to shine a light on:
- Man-made issues that pose a threat to our planet (litter, global warming, pesticides, GMOs, water pollution, over-fishing, deforestation, fracking)
- Environmental Disasters (tsunamis, hurricanes, oil spills, smog, nuclear meltdowns)
- Ideas for solutions (solar and wind energy, bio fuels, reduced carbon footprint, recycling, tree planting, organic farming)
Application Deadline: February 2, 2018.
Dunning Gallery – Northampton Community College – Monroe Campus
The American Identity: Art that Expresses Social, Historical & Political Issues in American Culture
For its spring exhibition, the Dunning Gallery will host an exhibit on The American Identity. Show Dates are January 19 – May 18, 2018. The Pocono Arts Council is invited to submit ten pieces for the exhibit. All mediums, 2-D and 3-D, are accepted.
